Dalam rangka menyongsong amanah dari Undang-Undang No. 27 Tahun 2007 tentang Pengelolaan Pesisir dan Pulau-Pulau Kecil, Magister Perencanaan Pengelolaan Pesisir dan Daerah Aliran Sungai (MPPDAS) membuka bimbingan teknis bagi para praktisi, teknisi, dan pemangku kebijakan di lingkup pemerintah daerah untuk menyusun amanah dari UU No. 27 tahun 2007 tersebut. Bimbingan teknis ini juga dilakukan demi mendukung percepatan penyusunan RZWP3K baik di tingkat Provinsi maupun Kabupaten/Kota.
Seminar Nasional ke-4 Pengelolaan Pesisir dan Daerah Aliran Sungai dilaksanakan di Fakultas Geografi, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta pada tanggal 24 Oktober 2018. Seminar ini diselenggarakan oleh Program Magister Perencanaan Pengelolaan Pesisir dan Daerah Aliran Sungai (MPPDAS) yang merupakan minat dari Program Studi S2 Geografi Fakultas Geografi, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Master program in planning and management of coastal area and watershed (MPPDAS) Faculty of Geography Universitas Gadjah Mada held The 3rd National Conference on Coastal and Watershed Management on Tuesday 26 September 2017. The annual event was aimed for developing science through scientific discussion forum and research dissemination related to coastal and watershed environment management. The Minister of Environment and Forestry officially opened the seminar and continued to giving keynote speech. Along with the minister, also came Head of Center for Data, Statistic and Information of Ministry of Marine and Fishery and UGM Former Vice Rector for Research and Community Services 2013-2017 to delevering speech.
Master Study in Planning and Management of Coastal and Management (MPPDAS) Faculty of Geography as well as Faculty of Forestry, Agicultural Technology, Fishery and Agiculture Universitas Gadjah Mada are members of Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC). The other University members are Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Kasetsart University (KU) in Thailand, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in Malaysia and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in the Philippines. The UC involve in Master of Science in Food Security and Climate Change (MS FSCC) since 2017. The MS FSCC is a joint degree funded by the European Commission’s ERASMUS + Capacity Building for Higher Education. The ERASMUS project is being led by Kasetsart University (KU) and involves 11 other partners from Southeast Asia and 5 partners from Europe. It aims to develop critical mass of high quality, next generation of interdisciplinary professionals able to address the imposing challenges posed by climate change and food security in the country and the region.
Sustainability Transitions Summer School (STSS) 2017 was held from 10-28 July in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, hosted by Universitas Gadjah Mada. This STSS is part of Food Security and Climate Change (FSCC) initiative co-founded by the Erasmus+ Programme of European Union, and the South East Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC). Co-organizing the Summer School are Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) of Indonesia, and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) of Vienna, Austria. The UC members are Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) and UGM in Indonesia, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in Malaysia, the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in the Philippines, and Kasetsart University (KU) in Thailand. Tokyo University of Agriculture (NODAI) is an Associate Member, while SEARCA is the Consortium Secretariat. This year, Universitas Brawijaya (UB) of Indonesia is a new affiliate member.
